Not only does the gospel save us from spiritual alienation it saves us from a life of isolation and loneliness by placing us into the body of Christ. The currents of God’s grace run most deeply within the society of the church. We believe that growth and renewal takes place within the context of community. As we devote ourselves to one another with increasing vulnerability, the gospel frees us from hiding our faults. We are finally free to struggle and support each other as the reality of the God’s grace transforms us.

At City Reformed Church it is within community groups that you will be cared for and develop a sense of belonging within the church. In these groups men and women build personal relationships and practice applying the gospel to their lives. Each group expects to experience Jesus Christ in its midst, enabling people to be transformed through mutual ministry and to experience life in the family of God. Groups provide a sanctuary from the pressures and anxieties of life in the city and foster the formation of new friendships. They are places where we can be revitalized and strengthened as we seek to reflect the love of Jesus Christ to our neighbors in the city of Milwaukee. As God made us for community, we need others to help us apply the gospel to our lives. Our hope is that every person who calls City Reformed Church home would also be connected to a group where they can share life together, study, pray and serve the city. Groups consist of 8-15 people that meet weekly or bi-monthly in homes and other venues throughout the city. This is the primary way we build community as a church.
